Gold Operations


Argonaut Gold is a new Canadian gold mining producer. Argonaut’s portfolio of gold operations are located in Mexico and include the 100% owned El Castillo gold mine, the past producing and development stage La Colorada project in Sonora, Mexico, the advanced exploration San Antonio project in Baja Sur California, and a portfolio of exploration projects located in the state of Sonora and Durango, Mexico.

El Castillo is Argonaut’s 100% owned open pit, heap leach gold mine located one hour north of the state capital Durango. El Castillo hosts 1.23 million ounces of Proven and Probable Gold Reserves and 1.7 million ounces of Measured and Indicated Resources (including P&P). The total gold resource for Argonaut exceeds 6.2 million ounces of M&I resource and 213,000 ounces of inferred material. The La Colorada project holds a notable silver resource as well.

2012 guidance is for 75-80,000 ounces of gold production at El Castillo and 13-17,000 ounces of gold production at La Colorada at cash costs between $625 -$650.
